Esther & Sunwoo               Prayer Meeting Group               Rainbow New Van

Dear Friends

Hallelujah!!

How are you doing during this season of harsh weather changes?

Under the umbrella of His grace and gift of scripture, our Rainbow Family that is going through a healing process in which we are abundant in freedom and in Thanksgiving would like to offer our greetings.

I would like to introduce a family we received last month: Esther, a 28years old single mother, and her 3 month old new born son, Sunwoo. Esther, who never got an opportunity to know her mother, she was born in Southern California and was raised by her father and grandmother. In addition to Sunwoo, Esther has a daughter and a son who is living with their father. As she mentioned that she was unable to see their faces for a year, we made it possible so that she can see her children on the weekends. I thank the Lord for utilizing our Rainbow Family as a passage of blessing and giving us the capabilities to do things that seem impossible or difficult. Never having seen the bible, Esther lived life without any thought or meaning. However, now as she figured out where she belonged, she provides us with her testimony that she felt a sense of peace she never had and thus holds the bible dear to her heart. Because she was raised without a mother, Esther grew up never once being embellished or dressed-up. However, her mind is beyond beautiful and I thank the Lord for sending us such a charming daughter of Christ. I ask of fervent prayer and support for both Esther and her son.

Deacon Sun Ja Jung, a server at church Cerritos, holds their monthly prayer meetings at our Rainbow Family home. In addition to serving the Rainbow Family School kids food, they also serve all the families living at home dinner. I genuinely thank the prayer group who serve with such kindness and also by providing us with much needed supplies.

A.W. So. West L.A. meeting, we received a 15 passenger van as a donation. As our family members were increasing, we had to constantly utilize many Volunteer’s vehicles for transportation. However, now we able to efficiently transport R.F.I School kids along with all our mothers and children in the home. I bless the ladies at the A.W. So. West L.A. meeting for their compassion and love and deeply thankful for all that they have provided us with.

Praise the Lord for allowing us to meet people in timely manners in which we are able to strongly carry out His mission and His will.

 Luke 6:38

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over,

will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.””

I pray that the power of resurrection of our Lord Jesus will be with you, your family, and your church always and God bless you!

 “Praise the Risen Lord!!.”

Dear Friends

Hallelujah!!

I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.

I would like to introduce a new family that came last month: Lorena Sanchez, a 32 year old single mother, and her two children, Giselle who is 10 years old and Melanin who is 7 years old. Although Lorena had 6 children, she was forced to leave them in the care of her mother due to drug addiction that prevented her from living a normal life. Because of a deportation order, the father of the kids was sent to Mexico. With a burdened heart that struggled through many tribulations. I am so glad Lorena came to Rainbow home to find refuge but we have lots of work to do.  I ask for much  prayers.

Kyung Mee Lee, RFI board of director, and her AW L.A group have held their prayer meeting at our home. I was moved and challenged through their dedicated passion in helping out their neighbors. We were able to spend a wonderful time in where we had the opportunity to be thankful for the individual visions that the Lord has assigned to us. I believe that the Lord will fulfill His will and that beautiful fruit will be bared through our joined strength in Him.

In honor of our 15th anniversary, Rainbow Family will be hosting a Thanksgiving Music Festival on Sunday of March 11th at 5 P.M. The location will be at the corner of the streets of Knotts Ave. and Crescent Ave. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In order to thank God that for his grace, love, and blessing and also churches, supporters, and various groups, we would like to invite you and your friends and family to come celebrate with us on this beautiful night.

03-2018-1“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” 1 Peter 1:3

Dear Friends,

Hallelujah!!

I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.

The abundantly sprouting buds and the blooming flowers seem to be joining us in the praise of our Lord’s resurrection. The moms in our home have immersed themselves in the rehabilitation process and living healthy lives under God’s grace and His word.

I would like to introduce a new family that joined us last month.

6 months pregnant 33 year-old single mother, Jennifer and her 4 year old son Mason are currently living with us. In hopes of abandoning a life full of addiction, Jennifer had an argument with the father of her kids who was involved in the selling of drugs. Subsequently, the kid’s father tried to hurt her and she managed to tell me that she was able to escape her death. Although she mentioned that both her parents were Christian and that she also grew up in the church, she also stated that she never met her natural father but she grew up with brothers and sisters of mother’s second marriage. Due to this living situation, she felt lonely and also that her presence was insignificant. I ask for prayers and support so that Jennifer and her kids will get healed through experiencing the abundant love of God.

Last month, Rainbow Family held our 15th anniversary Thanksgiving Music Festival. Directors, various pastors, Bethel praise team, and many supporters were able to join us at the Calvary Presbyterian church where Pastor Kim Jung Chan preaches. I would like to genuinely thank Pastor Kim Jung Chan and the church members who provide us with the space and lovely food each year. I would also like to thank everyone who joined us that evening.

I would like to return all the glory to God and thank you for provide an endless prayers and support and allow Rainbow Family to proclaim the kingdom of God on this earth.

Easter day this year, we held a worship service with all the family members and the fathers of the children living in our home. After the gathering and worship, we all shared a lovely Easter meal. Even families that did not know Jesus had a time to welcome Him as their savior. I would like to thank His endless grace once more.

Isaiah 61:1

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,

I pray and bless that above your family, church, business, and ministry, the power of the Resurrection will allow for making all things prosperous.

 Dear Friends,

Hallelujah!!

I hope and pray all is well with you and yours in this changing of weather.

With a grateful heart that resides under God’s grace, we offer our greetings.

I would like to introduce a new family that has joined us last month: single mother Christina and her children, five year old Antonio and recently turned one Olivia.

Christina was born in Orange County and ran away from home at age of 12. While living through great difficulties, she met the father of her kids and thought that she had attained happiness. However, because of their drug addictions and criminal records, they were unable to live stable and ordinary lives. Consequently, both Christina and the father of her kids were arrested. Father of the kids still incarcerated and not to be released anytime soon.

We ask for prayers and support so that this family may be healed by the love of Christ and guided in the right path.

There are about 20 students that are attending our R.F.I. after school program. They have grown so much in 6 years that we now have middle school students. It is wonderful to see the middle school kids volunteering their time and helping out the younger students with their homework. They have memorized the Lord’s prayer and their heart for wanting to know more about the Lord is growing evermore. When the kids are told about stories in the bible, their hearts are filled with joy. Due to their growing curiosity and desire to know more, they are asking numerous questions. Hallelujah!!

How joyful must the Lord be…Through all our supporter’s prayers and support, we have been able to reap a lot of fruit for the Lord. We are working hard to improve the lives of the next generation through our ministry.

I thank you from bottom of my heart for your support.

Due to the expansion and scale of our ministry, the operating fees have also increase we need the help of friends like you more than ever.     Please help us!!

On Sunday March 11th at 5 PM, we are planning to have fundraising concert at Calvary Presbyterian Church. Due to this planned event we ask for the prayers concerning the preparations.

 Psalm 121:1-2

Monica and her children                2017 Thanksgiving                     RFI children

Merry Christmas!!

Dear Friends

Hallelujah!!

Christmas greetings to you from Rainbow Family in the name of our Lord!

In 2017, the steadfast care of God and the continuous prayers of our supporters allowed for our one Family to complete the rehabilitation process. We currently have 6 families in our home and each one is fighting hard and reigning victorious in their spiritual battle.

I would like to thank our friends with a genuine heart for all your prayers and thoughtful support.

I would like to introduce the new family that has been given to us: 37 year old single mother, Monica and her sons Benson, Gabriel, and Jeremiah. Monica was raised under her grandparents as her mother died when she was at a very young age and her father left her due to drug addictions. Carried down from her family members, Monica developed an addiction for alcohol and drugs from a young age of 14. Amidst all the loneliness, she met the father of her kids and was lost for quite some time. Fortunately, due the prayers of family members, Monica was welcomed into Rainbow Family where she is living a life with God. Although her two eldest sons, Benson and Gabriel, have autism, they are being wrapped in the love of Christ through our Rainbow Family and I request of both prayers and support.

During Thanksgiving last month, RFI Board of Directors and the supporters of Kowin LA branch have volunteered their time and offered 24 turkeys and other Thanksgiving meal ingredients to families so that they could enjoy an abundant meal with their families. Through their efforts, a lot of families were able to have warm and memorable meals. Thank you so much.

We were so joyful this month as students in our ministry received awards for being recognized as hardworking and diligent students.

On December 16th, starting at 11 A.M., Rainbow Family is hosting an annual event where we pass out gifts to our neighbors and children going through difficult times. Thankful for God’s love and compassion, Rainbow Family invites you to this lovely event.

Families of Rainbow Family and RFI students are waiting for gifts while they are writing a letter to Jesus. I have been praying ardently as I do not want to disappoint them.

Please help me so that I may offer gifts to graduate families, neighbors and kids of our ministry

Luke 2:14

Jenny and Her Children               Walk-A-Thon                        Stella Shin

Happy Thanksgiving

Dear friends

Hallelujah!!

I hope and pray all is well with you and yours in this changing of weather.

With a grateful heart that resides under God’s grace, we offer our greetings

Last month we have received another lovely family: Jenny Chavez, a single mother and her 4year old son Jeremiah, 3 year old daughter Ellie, and 1 year old baby Genesis. Jenny was born in California, stated that she had an older and younger sister, and was born to parents who had strong drug addictions. Her father is currently in drug treatment program and she has no idea where her mother may be. She explains that she and her three children lived in her boyfriend’s car for quite some time, until her boyfriend drove off with the car, leaving her nowhere to go. She then found the closest church and sought help in Calvary Church in Norwalk. An acquaintance of mine, who is a chaplain of the Linwood Prison, attended that church and introduced our Rainbow Family to them in which the Pastor and his wife brought her family to us. Although Jenny had nothing with her as all her belongings were in the vehicle, she was determined for a new beginning and so is living with great effort with her children, while experiencing the love of God. Won’t you please help this family with financial support and prayers?

After the expansion of our ministry, our residents and after school students, have been able to experience great joy of having more space to reside, study and play. However, the families that we have to help in the name of the Lord have been increasing, which means the costs have also risen as well, making it very difficult for us to maintain our ministry. Additionally, I am concerned that we are not going to have enough to share food and gifts to celebrate with needy neighbors for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Please help me to help others!!

During our last Walk-A-Thon, our families, Director Lim Jung Hwa, and other volunteers had a wonderful time. Even with strollers, we were able to safely complete our path, with not a single injury or mishap. I would like to genuinely thank all the supporters who have helped out during this Walk-A-Thon.

Stella Shin who has lived with us for 9 months with her son, Samuel, has just celebrated her birthday. She broke into tears of joy. that her family never visited her once, she was thankful to have found the loving family that celebrated birthday with her. Both Pastor Park and I felt so touched by her emotions that I praised the Lord for so preciously using Rainbow Family to help others.

Every Thanksgiving, we distribute turkey and other food items around to our neighbors. The same will happen this year on a Saturday on November 18th at 11:30 A.M. We ask for participation in this event through donations, volunteer, prayers, and support.

Psalm100:4-5

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

The supporters who thank the Lord’s grace and serve your neighbors, I pray and bless that your family, church, business, and ministry, the power of the Resurrection will allow for making all things prosperous.

Tiani & Jason                      Birthday party                 Happy time together

Dear Friends

Hallelujah!!

I hope and pray all is well with you and yours in this changing of weather.

With a grateful heart that resides under God’s grace, we offer our greetings

As we are entering this harvest season, I offer praise to the Lord as I am reminded of his overwhelming goodness.

I want to introduce a new family, 26 year old Single mother Tiani and her 4 year old son, Jason, that was brought to us last month by the Lord. Tiani suffered and fight hard with her drug addiction.  She grew up homeless and lived in a tent in Riverbed with her drug addicted parents. After Jason’s father went to prison she was going through many hardships as a single mother with a young son. She says it was miracle from God that she was introduced to Rainbow Family. 4 year old Jason has autism and therefore goes through great difficulties such as being unable to speak and having been required to wear a diaper. However because he can still hear, Pastor Park and I are putting in great effort to communicate with him. I laugh to myself because I sometimes wonder if our cute Jason would start speaking Korean first. During my 15 years of ministry, I have encountered many families that have suffered through great difficulties, but through the deep and personal conversations I had with Tiani, I feel that it is the first that I was told of such a difficult life as this. Tiani has confidence in her Salvation and loves Him so much. I ask of your support and prayers for this family so that they may be healed and victorious through the love of the Lord. Thank you!!!

In our RFI afterschool program, we have 18 attending students daily, we pick them up from school and help them with their homework. After they enjoy their play, we provide them with a hearty dinner and provide a ride back to their homes.

There will be Walk-A-Thon on October 14th. We will start at our Rainbow Home at 9:30 A.M. and walk about 50 blocks. After that we will make our way back Home and share fellowship over a lunch.

Please join us in our walk or sponsor our walkers. We need your help!

Because of your prayer and support, we were able to provide for our neighbors and their children, and offer them free education and aid in living out their everyday lives. I want to thank you from bottom of my heart for your support.

Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

I pray that the power of resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ will be with you and your family, your church and ministry always.   God bless you and yours!

Sunny Foundation                 Raquel & Mia                           Volunteers

Dear Friends

Hallelujah!!

Hope you are doing well in this warm summer weather.

Greetings to you from Rainbow family in the name of our Lord.

This summer, taking care of 27 kids in Rainbow summer school has been an arduous task and I must admit there are times when I suffer both physically and emotionally. However in the midst of all the people in the world, I am thankful to the point of tears that as a lacking person as I am I have been assigned to share his love and gospel. And through doing his will, Lord gave a compassionate heart that ultimately overcame my weakness Praise the Lord!!.

I would like to introduce a new family, 45 year old single mother Raquel and 13year old daughter Mia. Although there was a time when Raquel was in the rehabilitation process with Rainbow Family for over an year when her daughter Mia was not even two years old, since then she received a lot of hardships for being a single mother and has returned to our Home. Please keep their futures in your prayers. Thank you !.

Although there were more students in the year 2017 than any other year for our summer school program, but director Lim Jung Hwa and her 13 volunteers were of great help as they taught many subjects including English, Math, Music, Art. The Volunteers parents have also helped out by offering delicious meals to kids who grew up in difficult environments, donating material goods, and sharing their love. I thank the Lord for them.

A long time supporter of Rainbow Family, Director Joo from Sunny Foundation and Many members came and offered wonderful meals to our Rainbow summer school students and took care of the kids with love.

In addition to that, Good Shepherd Church, Calvary Presbyterian Church, Il shin Presbyterian Church, and Immanuel Baptist Church have consistently visited us, donated material goods and prayed for our students and the Rainbow Families.

Mrs. Soo Lee has also visited Rainbow Family just as same as every year without fail and has supported us with funds and immense love. I bow my head in thanksgiving for all the love that was provided by our supporters.
