Nicole and her son James  RFM after school @ Livingstone CDC  Lisa and her son Alex

Dear friends

Hallelujah!!

I pray that God’s glory will dwell in your home and your workplace always all throughout the year 2014.

Just as a racing horse looks only forward to the finish line, our RFM families will continue to run forward with God given dream and hope in 2014.

I’d like to introduce new family members to RFM; Nicole, 20 year old Mom and her 3 month old son James.

Nicole was born in Florida and when she was only 9 month old she was adopted and raised in southern California.  When Nicole turned sixteen both of her adoptive parents died of a car accident, and suddenly she became homeless choking back tears.  She began to move around from place to place living in a tent, and she met a homeless boyfriend and became pregnant.  Even before the baby James was born his dad was imprisoned for a crime and he is still in prison to this date.  Now Nicole is living with us in RFM home and she is greatful that the Lord led her to RFM and set her on a new path.

I’d like to ask you to pray for Nicole that she would find healing and victory in the Lord!

I’d also like to introduce Lisa 29 year old mom and her 5 year old son Alex; Lisa’s hometown is Jew Jersey and she was raised by her parents who were drug addicts.  Lisa began to use drugs and alcohol at the age of eleven and she thought this life was normal.  When she finally realized and tried to live a new life and get help at various rehab centers, but society did not welcomed her and she found it very difficult to adjust.  Meanwhile, she met Alex’s dad but happiness did not last long and she went back to the life of wilderness. She is so thankful that she found the refuge like RFM.

I’d like to ask your prayer and support also for Lisa that she would open her heart to Jesus and find new life and hope in Him.

The children who come to RFM after school continue to feed on the love of Christ, run and play in the care and comfort of the Lord’s hand.  Special thanks to Dr. Park Kyung Ill of Livingstone CDC. and all volunteers teaching violin, cello, and piano.

Due to a limited space of our RFM facility, noises during our after school hours causes interruptions to our rehab trainings and the babies often have difficulty to sleep.  In order for the single mom rehab program to continue with the current after school program we need to have at least about 1000 square foot extension to our existing building.

Please help me to build this much needed space by sending extra contribution?

I can do this without friends like you.

1 Chronicles 4:10

“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory!

Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.”

I pray that God would bless richly your church, home, business and ministry and that His mighty power be with you always.

Because He lives,

Happy New Year!!

The RFM families wish you a happy new year with God’s grace and blessings.

We experienced Christ’s love poured out to our Home,  we received the Christmas gifts and toys through the hands of the supporters, local church members, Sunny Hill High school students and the city policemen.

On Christmas Eve afternoon, RFM had a wonderful birthday party for Jesus. not only our rainbow families but those who already have graduated from our rehab program and the families who leaving in the motels came to celebrate with us. We served Christmas meals for them and lots of Christmas gifts for the moms and the children. Jason Kim and his wife came and took family photos and printed out to each family and lighten up their hearts with Christmas joy and warmth. We were able to give 15pound bags of rice and baby items and leaving supplies donated to us by the Global Children Foundation.  We thank God for he’s faithfulness and love.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and financial support.

We had record number of visitors this year so we had to set up tables to celebrate the birth of Jesus out on our front lawn.  We ask for your prayer and support to expand our facility that we can have celebration inside our building in 2014.  Our deepest thanks to RFM Board members for there labor and financial support on this Christmas.

Young nak Celebration church along with several other church came together as a volunteer group to clean up our garage.  Special hanks to those young people of 2nd generation; it was a great joy to expect greater things to come through these young servants of God.

The year 2013 was our RFM 10th anniversary.

It is no doubt that God allowed this mercy ministry with many partners and supporters to grow and touch the lives of many in His faithfulness and infinite love and grace.

Our free Summer school program was possible through Edison Electric Co, Open Bank and Mr. Hah Sang Bok and many other supporters.  And Jonathan Home Mission center completed its repair and remodeling by the donation through the fashion show led by Young nak Celebration church.  And we were able to have 10th anniversary thanksgiving praise sponsored by Calvary Presbyterian church.

On Thanksgiving, Dr. Lee Dong Ill and Mr. Lee Soo  donated all materials and food needed to make a turkey dinner for many in our neighborhood families

We are currently offering a free after school program including dinner for our Rainbow School kids.  I can’t do this without help from friends like you!!

I’d like to ask you to help RFM continue in 2014 do the work of evangelism all the more in the home and the society by spreading the gospel message and sharing the love of Christ.

We pray for you and bless you our partners that as we continue to have a dream and vision together for New Year,

God would pour out his blessings on your family, church, business, and ministry.

Psalms 81:10

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt.

Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.”

I pray big dreams that you have for “2014  will all come true because we serve a big God.

Dear friends,

Hallelujah!!

How are you doing? Greetings to you from the Rainbow Family in the name of our Lord.

We bring praises to our Lord who made us realize our calling in His love and grace and allowed us to pray together with the supports and to see the fruits of the gospel in the lives of many.

The year 2013 was our Rainbow Family Ministry 10th year anniversary and the year God bestowed His blessings to all RFM family members and the children attending our after school program.

We give thanks to Jehovah Jireh, our God the Provider.

As our ministry continues to expand, our financial burdens become heavier, but God allowed to open my spiritual eyes to see the miracles in the future and keep me humble and obedient to his will.

I am amazed to see God’s working hands through the help of our friends like you and I thank God for you.

This year’s Thanks Giving day was a special one, because Dr. Dong Lee and his wife Soo Lee gave away Many turkeys and all the trimmings for turkey dinner and even baked delicious pumpkin pies to share with the neighbors and the children who come to our after school program . My heart rejoiced because God answered my prayer through the helping hands of this couple that I was able to touch the lives of many more families in need.

The young children raised by single moms are internally wounded and often have anger burst and low self esteem. They also academically perform at a low level than their counterparts. However, at our RFM, through our after school program especially an art therapy program run by Mrs. Chung Bo Kyung, they regain their self esteem and begin to show signs of healing and Improvements in there behaviors. Thank God for her dedication.

I’d like to ask for your continual support as I make every effort to feed and raise these young children to become a future Ambassador of Jesus Christ in this world.

There are many more children making the Christmas present request made to Jesus this year I need your help!!

As a sequel of “The Beautiful Story”, the students at Sunny Hill High School in Fullerton performed “Recycling” and collected revenue and bought school supplies, bag packs and snacks for these children.

Thank you for your sacrifice and generous donations.

I promise with your prayer and support , I will continue to spread the great love of Jesus both in season and out of season with all my strength.

Glory to God in the highest heaven and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” (Luke 2: 14)

I pray the joy of the Christmas and living hope of miracles and blessings are with you and yours in this glorious season.

Because He lives,

Happy Thanksgiving

Dear friends, Hallelujah!!

Rainbow Family that are restored and growing in love and grace, greeting to you in the name of the Lord!

I pray that you and your home will be filled with the blessing of the thanksgiving season and the love and fullness of his spirit of grace will spring forth to reach your neighbors.

We’d like to introduce a new Rainbow Family member.

We cannot upload her photo and announce her name but she is a Asian woman with three year old and one year old children came to our home. She was a domestic violence victim and afflicted and she and her family followed Buddhism. When she first opened the bible and listened to God’s word she said a repentant prayer and cried her heart out.

I ask for your prayer support that God would heal her wounds and comfort her.

With the thanksgiving hart I look back the year 2013, I see the hands of Lord’s faithfulness and loving kindness towards all moms and children taking refuge in the Rainbow Family home in Buena Park and Jonathan Home in Las Vegas, and He’s love continues to stir up my heart to proclaim the gospel and his love loudly than ever.

On October 26, Young Nak Celebration Church opened a fun raising fashion show event for Korean and Asian human trafficking and domestic violence victims to help support RFM Jonathan Home in Las Vegas. The theme of the event was 1920′s “Clothed in Strength & Dignity” The Power of a New Identity.

We praised the Lord Jesus, the lifter of our heads, as we walked on the red carpet like the Hollywood VIP stars.

Jonathan Home was first established three years ago as an extension of RFM, and it is the only Emergency / 30 day / 90 day shelter for Korean and other Asian women and children. it serves as a safe haven for women and children victims to escape from their offenders. Until Jonathan Home was established, the women and children victims of human trafficking and violence did not have any protective measure, but now they can come out of their nightmare and find the life of victory.

I thank Young Nak Celebration Church for the donation through the fashion show event, and this much needed fund would help those who are in desperate need to know the love of Jesus and finally be free from the bondage of sin.

We thank Young Nak Celebration church pastors, deacons, many volunteers and many who made the donations total over $25,000. We give all glory to the Lord our God.

Isaiah61:3

And provide for those who grieve in Zion–to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.”

I pray that God would bless richly your church, home, business and ministry and that His mighty power be with you always.

10th year thanksgiving            praiseNancy and her children        After school Dinner time

Dear friends,

Hallelujah!!

Rainbow family greet you in the name of the Lord!

I pray that God’s fullness of blessing will fill your home this fall.

Our 10th year anniversary of Rainbow Family Ministry last September 22nd was a great blessing. Many of our friends and the families came to celebrate our anniversary with us. I send my heartfelt gratitude to all supporters who’s offered material and spiritual support for the last 10 years of our ministry.

Our Rainbow Family Home, just as we have done in last ten years, we will continue the ministry of healing and renewal for the gospel of Jesus Christ until He comes again, and we thank you for all your support and I believe that you will continue to stand by us.

We’d like to introduce our new Rainbow Family members: Nancy and her children. Nancy was raised in Texas and escaped from her kids father’s offense and misconduct. So she decided to come to California and find her long lost brother, but her circumstance was not going her ways. When she was filled with fear and worries and was searching for ways to survive she saw our website rfmusa.org and now found a new home. I’d like to ask for your prayer that Nancy and her 9year old daughter Amanda and 1year old son Caleb would find a new life of opportunity and peace in Christ.

Our after school program started last summer is now in full swing and touching the lives of ‘motel kids’, and they are regaining courage and confidence as they study and learn at RFM. It is our new joy to see them play and run in the yard as they are nourished with healthy meal at supper. One of the reasons that I’m most thankful is these children care for each other and hold each other’s hand in prayer at times. As I watch them, I am reminded that the power of the gospel can bind us all in Christ and I bring praises to the Lord that He truly uses our Rainbow Family as HIs instrument to reach out to them

Jonathan Home in Las Vegas continues to be a refuge for human trafficking and domestic violence victims, also a place for foreign college students who need help currently enrolled at UNLV and city college so that they would not pursue sinful ways of men but be challenged, healed and trained by the gospel.

Matthew 5:41-42

If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.

Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.”

I pray and ask for God’s blessings to you and your church, family, business, and ministry and Christ Jesus’ resurrection power to be with you always.

Because he lives,

How are you in this summer heat wave?
Rainbow family and I greet you in the name of our Lord.
The children who took RFI free summer school program for two and a half month at our center are mostly ‘motel kids’ (kids raised in a motel).
The ‘motel kids’ have become a social issue lately.
These children and their families are radically changing by experiencing the love of our God this summer.
Before these children came to our school they spent most of their time in a motel hallways and parking lot till their moms come home.
But through our summer school program they played musical instruments, studied Arts, English, Math and visited local libraries, zoo, and science museums.
And through various learning experience they gained self esteem as well.
It was heart breaking to see the kind of life they have; they do not have a swimsuit to wear to go to a swimming pool and cannot wear a fresh uniform because they did not have access to a wash machine.
Most kids have Hispanic parents and their Dads were deported or absent.
Their families stay in motels by government vouchers.
For these children we will offer continuous free after school program at our center.
English and Math classes will be taught by youth group volunteers from Grace Korean Community Church and Good Hand For One organization.
Music class will be taught by Ashley Kim, Arts by Chung Bo Kyung and dinner will be served every day.
If we look at the world we are overwhelmed but when we look to the city of God we find rest and all seemingly impossible tasks become possible in Christ.
Jesus taught us that we shall love the Lord our God and our neighbors which is the first and foremost commandment and we give all glory to our Lord Jesus.
I can’t do this without friends like you!!
Please get involved in this wonderful ministry.
I thank you for your prayers and support.
Philippians 4:19
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in
Christ Jesus.”
I pray and ask for God’s blessings to you and your church, family, business, and
ministry and the power of Christ Jesus’ resurrection power to be with you always.

Ps: I’ve attached an invitation letter of our 10th Anniversary Celebration. Please
come and join our celebration on September 22nd.

picture 8Discovery Science Center                  Monique and her Son                   RFM Summer School

Dear friends, Hallelujah!!

I hope all is well with you during this summer month. Rainbow family and I greet you in the name of our Lord.

I’d like to introduce Monique, who came to stay with us last month, and her adorable 3weeks old son Benson.

Monique was raised fatherless as the youngest in her family with her mom, who suffered drug addiction all her life.

When she was living with her legal siblings she had to move her home many times that she did not have a permanent home address and thus she could not attend the school regularly.

Many days she woke up in a house unfamiliar only to find her mom fell on the floor heavily intoxicated by drugs and alcohol, and had to call 911 for help.

But when she thought of her homeless life as normal, she dreamed of a day she would have her own bed.

When she was thirteen, she was already addicted to drugs and alcohol, but worked hard and at her workplace met Benson’s father.

And they were able to rent a small apartment; she was very happy just for having a place to live.

However, drug and alcohol addiction was still a problem in her home and they often had arguments and fights.

Her boy friend physically abused her while she was pregnant and threw her out on a street when she was close to giving birth.

Monique and her son Benson now have found a new home here at Rainbow Family home and she’s teaming for rehabilitation.

I earnestly ask for your prayer that she would receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior and restore in Christ’s love and be a living testimony of Christ work and victory.

Our summer school program that started last June 17 children who looked only frail and cheerless when they first came are now filled with smiles and their voice and laughter get louder each day as they try to memorize Scripture verses.

When I watch these precious children as they begin each morning with gladness and smile, I am reminded afresh that as Christian much work to be done here in USA .

As I finish the day, I realize that I made a good decision to live for Christ, who has called and redeemed and is helping me to do his will.

Hallelujah! All glory to the Lord, who is good and faithful!

RFM Chair Man of the Board Dr. Lee Dong Il and Lee Soo In came to visit us with good news that RFM board is planning to expand our facility.

Pastor Yana Ahn of young nak Celebration Church and Esther Koh, mission supervisor came to visit RFM and briefed about financial support for Las Vegas Jonathan Home Missions.

Because of your support and prayers we can take care the people in need and share the love of Christ. Thank you!

Matthew 6:33

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

I pray and ask for God’s blessings to all supporters in your church, family, business, and ministry and the power of Christ Jesus’ resurrection power to be with you always.

Dear friends;
Hallelujah!!
Greeting form the Rainbow family in the name of the Lord.
The Rainbow families are thankful to the love and grace of our Lord and are always growing in leaps and bounds.  We are all excited about the various programs offered at the RFM summer school this year and we expect great things to come each day.

The summer school program offered at our R.F.M. starting this summer is geared towards the young students who come from single parent homes and low income families including the students who received the recommendations from Centralia Elementary School.  This program thus will provide free breakfast and lunch including snacks, and various classes such as Arts, English, Math, Music and P.E.  Specially, Music classes will offer violin, cello and piano lessons taught by Ashley Kim and Rev. Sub Rhee Kim, who are recognized by many talented leading musicians.  And P.E class will offer variety of individual and team sports taught by Brother Yun seok Park.

We also take the students on field trips to museum and other sites for enriching their learning experiences.

We’ve been praying steadfastly for the program to reach all students enrolled, but after the summer school started I questioned myself how I could feed these twenty students and provide the best care possible daily for two and a half month.  But the Lord knew my heart and provided the uniforms for students and volunteers, food and snacks for the students through Thanksgiving Korean Church.

And God moved Mr. Sang Bok Ha and his wife serving New Hope church; he entered the marathon race at San Francisco last June 16th, ran 52 miles and gathered the donations for our summer program.
I appreciate and thankful for his fearless love and effort.
Kyung Mi Lee and Sylvia Kim, the board members of the Rainbow Family Inc, visited us and blessed our families with their love.
I thank God for friends like you, we couldn’t do this without you.

As God continues to pour out his blessings in many special ways and leads every step of our ways for the purpose of spreading the gospel and sharing His sacrificial love, we continue to be encouraged and to remain faithful to His calling and be thankful to God and give Him the glory. Hallelujah!!
Romans 1:16
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”

I pray that the power of the resurrection of the Lord to be with you, your church, business, and ministry always.  God bless you!

picture_6      Good Hands For One               Mother’s Day        Torrance Good Shepherd Church

Dear friends;
Hallelujah!!

Greeting form the Rainbow family in the name of the Lord.
By God’s grace and your prayer and support we continue to transform into the wonderful image of the Lord Jesus as we plan for the days ahead with the joy of salvation.

On Mother’s Day, many friends came to visit our home and bless the single moms with warm loving comfort.  Thanks to Son In Hwan and Chung Yung Hwa and many more friends for the gifts and offerings for the mothers, who try to fulfill the roles of both Mom and Dad, and thanks to our dear friends at Torrance Good Shepherd church for their beauty supplies, kitchen wares and donations.  Thank you all for your generous support and kindness.

The Rainbow home is planning to provide the musical lessons for the low income family kids in our city this summer.
The director of the outreach program “Good Hands For One” Ashley Kim visited us.

For those economically disadvantaged children who seldom have a chance to play musical instruments, with the purpose of giving the children at our home and also other neighboring multi race children the opportunities to learn and play piano, violin, cello, and many other musical instruments, we are planning to have a kick off this month.

We are most certain that through providing the musical lessons for such children in our city, this multi cultural community in which we live can be united strongly, and the children can feel the sense of connection with other children, and regain self esteem and confidence to overcome difficult circumstances of life.  We believe that by giving them such hope the children will remember the unconditional love of Christ during this summer and overcome the world with his Love.

We still need many more musical instruments in order to provide them the lessons because the children who came from low income families cannot purchase the instruments they need.  If you have an old or used violin, cello, and etc. that you don’t use and would like to donate such items please call me @ 323-350-3046.  I hope and pray you be part of this summer school program with us and continue to serve this community by giving hope and opportunity for these children.
I need your help.

(Isa 61:1)
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;”

I pray that the power of the resurrection of the Lord to be with you, your church, business, and ministry always.
God bless you!

2013  Walk-A-Thon                       Sylvia and Mireya                           cooking class

Dear friends,

Hallelujah!!
I hope all is well with you.    Greetings from Rainbow Family!

I am pleased to introduce new family members—24  year old Sylvia and her 4 year old daughter Mireya.  Sylvia came to the United States as a young girl with her family from Mexico.  Even before she was born, Sylvia’s family had a long history of involvement in the drug trafficking trade.  Many of her family members have been killed or incarcerated.  She always thought that she had to live as her family members did, and knew no other options.  Now she has found a new way of life in Christ.  She thanks God for teaching her a new path, and for showing her His will in life.  She is even more grateful because she recently regained custody of her daughter, and attributes this blessing to His grace.  Would you pray with me so that she will feel the love of God and experience His goodness so she can make a new life for herself and her daughter, breaking a generational pattern, to live as a creation of His good purpose?

On April 6th, we held our annual Walk-A-Thon.  All of the Rainbow Family—mothers and children included—participated.   Hannah and her friends, a group of volunteers from Grace Korean Church Youth Group, joined us for a 50-block walk around the neighborhoods of Buena Park.  After the walk, we shared a great meal and fellowship.  I wish to thank all of the donors who sponsored walkers this year from the bottom of heart.

I also wish to thank our friends and donors for your love and prayers.
Your support enables me to lead these families to a new way of life.  I experience daily the miracle of His will on earth, as it is in heaven.  I cannot express my gratitude to you enough.

We have a cooking class we all enjoy and look forward to very much.  Mrs. Cho Kun Hee comes to us with all different types of healthy menus for us and our children.  Prior to these lessons, ladies in the home mostly used the microwave to prepare convenient meals for their children.  Thanks to Mrs. Cho, the ladies are learning the value of cooking from scratch, and are preparing healthier meals for themselves and their children.  The entire Rainbow Family is grateful to Mrs. Cho for her efforts.

We are preparing to operate a summer school this summer.  We have made arrangements with the Principal at Centralia Elementary School to provide summer school programming for a number of low-income children.  The purpose of this partnership is to provide safe and nurturing educational opportunities to children who are otherwise at risk during the summer months.  I need your help to make this program a success.  We need many volunteers, and even more prayers.  Won’t you support this new project?

Proverbs27:18
“He who tends a fig tree will eat its fruit, and he who looks after his master will be honored.”
I pray May His resurrection power be with you and your church, family, ministry, and workplaces always.
