All the grateful ladies and children in Rainbow Family home send you greeting in the name of the Lord,

I would like to introduce another new family member that has joined us last month. Stella Shin 39 years old single mother and her 10 years old son Sam. Stella grew up in Brazil and immigrated to the United States at 18 years old with her Korean parents. She has had a very hard time adapting to the new culture and ways of living in the United States. She was having financial trouble going to shelter to shelter can’t find a permanent place to live with her son.  Wonderful couple from the church in Rowland heights brought her to Rainbow home, she was telling me if I had known place like this existed I would have came here long time ago and she laid her head on my shoulder, I thank the Lord for his grace and mercy, I pray that the Lord who bless her humble disposition and grateful heart will heal her and restore confidence in her son Sam as well. She sadly mentioned that had she found this place earlier, she would have had an earlier start to a new life. Please support her family with prayers that they may succeed in the Lord.

The 2017 RFI board of directors has elected Sylvia Kim as the Chair Woman.  Please pray for us and support us. As RFI board first seek his kingdom and his righteousness. Thank God for friends like you!

An old friend of RFI that has been always by our sides, the woman’s missionary of Calvary Presbyterian Church has held a devotion worship in which they invited me and gave me an opportunity to share the word and the fellowship, I genuinely thank Pastor Jung Chan Kim and his wife and the church members for their love.

The 2017 Walk-a-thon is planned for Saturday March 18th.

We are planning to leave the Rainbow Home at 9:30 a.m. and walk 50 blocks in which we will end around 12:30 p.m. After that we will have Lunch and fellowship. Please participate and support the walkers of this event.

Happy New Year!!

Hallelujah!!

Families of RFI wish you a very happy new year with God’s grace and blessings!!

 We are thankful for the Lord’s endless love and grace and we are ready to welcome the New year by offering our new year’s greetings to you and yours.

Through our supporters, various organizations, RFI board of directors, and numerous organization and churches, we were able to experience the abundance of God’s love and blessings. As we thank His wide river like grace, we look forward to the plans that God has in place for us in the year 2017.

For the 2016 Christmas event, families that have graduated RFI rehabilitation program came to visited us and about 70 or more RFI students and neighboring families have also showed up with children and enjoyed the meals that we have prepared. We were also able to pass out numerous gifts without missing a single person. We want to thank the friends, churches, foundations, and board of directors for the presents and various donations for the event. For almost 10 years the students studied outside underneath the tents and we had no choice but to host events and serve our guests outside, but for the 2016 Christmas event due the Lord’s grace and our supporter’s overwhelming support, we were able to host and share gifts and offer meals to our neighbors within the completed spacious building. I thank God for friends like you.

I would like to thank deacon Dongil Kim from Ilshin Presbyterian Church for supplying the RFI student’s with school supplies and Deacon Jennifer Cho and her family for providing us with generous contribution and for the gifts.

I would also like to genuinely thank Director Jung Hwa Lim of Livingstone community volunteer group and various volunteer groups and organizations for their hard efforts.

Through the endless prayers and all the supports from friends like you, we are encourage to start the New year with confidence and faith that you will partner with us to fulfill utmost capacities as we spread the Lord’s love.

Whether it is in season or out of season to spread the blessing and love of God to families and the societies that we live in. I believe in faith that your prayers and support will continue to fulfill the works of the Lord. Thank you!!

Merry Christmas!!

Christmas greetings to you from Rainbow Family in the name of our Lord!

In thanking of the Lord’s abundant grace and blessings, the RFI Board of directors and the pastors of Torrance Good Shepherd Church, Calvary Presbyterian church, ILShin Presbyterian church, Evergreen Mission Church, Downey Good Shepherd Church, and about 70 more supporters, held a Worship in thanksgiving of the expansion of the Rainbow home facility.

Through the Global Children Foundation, we were able to meet Union Church where they provided the RFI family members and RFI after school families with turkeys. They directly brought the turkeys to our Home and helped distribute it to the families. Through their good deed, many families have a great Thanksgiving meals. And  showed their desire to hold their hands with us in this journey to help out neighbors in need.

I was very excited to see Bored of Director E.K.Ban who I haven’t seen in a long time attend our worship ceremony.

Jun Min Kyung from the Leaders of Women’s Ministry of the Presbyterian denomination also came to see us.

Due to board of Director Sylvia Kim who catered the food for us, we were able to enjoy and serve wonderful lunch for everyone.

Director Lim Jung Hwa and her volunteers have come out and volunteered their time for the kids. I thank from bottom of my heart to everyone who attended re-opening service of the Home and to those supporters to arise with their contributions through prayers and support.   Praise the Lord!!

This year December 17th starting from 10:30 A.M., we will be hosting our annual event where we will be distributing gifts to our neighbors in need. Not only that but we will also be serving delicious food. I invite our friends to this event.

As Rainbow Family children are anticipating their Christmas gifts, they are writing letters to the Jesus. And of course, I am trying very hard not to dishearten them.

In order to provide returning students who have graduated and our neighbors with gifts, I need your generous help.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hallelujah!!   I hope and pray all is well with you

In a blink of an eye, 2016 has already reached autumn and I am happy to welcome the season of bountiful harvest.

We pray that you will have a bountiful and joyful Thanksgiving this year and Rainbow Family is offering our greetings in the name of the Lord.

We are relaying much joyful news. Due to the abundant and unrestrained love from our supporters that allowed for the gathering of donations and prayers, the construction of our ministry has finally been completed.

As we are entering the month of Thanksgiving, I am urged to look back year of 2016 and to see all the blessings and majestic actions that have been produced from the living God. In thanks I cannot stop praising the Lord as I feel the reward of being trustful and patient with what the Lord has willed for us and promised.

I had been praying for the absolute completion of this construction project, deacon Mr.& Mrs. Michael and EK Ban who is board of directors of R.F.I. and a server of New Hope Church, has offered donations in thanks to the Lord for their 35 year wedding anniversary. With this donation, we will be able to wrap up the construction process with fences and Play ground for the children, cement for the front yard.

I genuinely thank Mr.& Mrs. Michael and EK Ban for their generosity and compassion.

In this building of about 4,300 square feet, we can house 7 to 8 families and help 20 to 30 RFI students with biblical knowledge and values. This place has become an important and precious place for the expansion of God’s Kingdom. Again and again I thank you from very bottom of my heart and give all the glory to God. .

During this harvest season where the mountains and fields are covered in abundant flowers like embroidery,

I hope and pray all is well with you and yours. Greetings to you from Rainbow family in the name of our Lord.

As we are approaching the end of construction of Rainbow Family home, I cannot hide my tears and grateful heart as I praise and thank the Lord. when I recognize once more his faithfulness and continuous renewal of his blessings.

I genuinely thank the RFI Board of Directors and support from loving friends like you for visiting the construction site and supporting us with your prayers and financial contribution.

Always having been an answer to our prayers, founder of the Won foundation, Mrs.Meenah Won visited the rainbow home construction site, offered various advices, and also deliver the building funs from the foundation.

I pray that the Lord will bless all the good works that are being done through the Won foundation.

Il shin Presbyterian Church, deacon Jennifer Cho who has heart for underprivileged children visited and offered donations for the construction project as she showed her compassion in helping neighbors in need.

I thank the Lord for her generosity and loving heart.

A long time friend of Rainbow Family who serves Riverside Mission Center, elder Young Suk Shin happily visited construction site and also provided us with funds and prayers for the Home. I thank the Lord for her amazing compassion.

Doctor Kyung Il Park, a founding member of the Livingstone Organization, provided donations under his deceased wife’s name to honor her. I was left speechless as I saw Doctor Park hold in his tears while he was telling me about his late wife’s compassion for neighbors who faced hardships through an old picture.

One of our major supporters Pastor Hyun Su Kim and Pastor Chang Kwon Kim, elder Bo k. Park of Torrance Good Shepherd Church, and Livingstone community volunteer program Director Jung Hwa Lim have visited and we hold a worship service and praise the Lord in one accord. I once again thank their willingness to offer their endless support.

I want to thank the supporters who participated in the 2016 Phone-a-thon, please join in this yearly fundraising event to help the neighbor in need.

Greetings to you from Rainbow family in the name of our Lord.

Our longtime friend and supporter President Joo and the Manager from Sunny Foundation, have visited the construction site, offered advice, and brought contribution to the RFI building fund. Their consistent support and interest have been such a great encouragement to us… Thank You!

As the Rainbow Home is finishing up with the construction, I am happy to say that we have 8 bedrooms so that we can help more than 6-7 single mother families in order for them to reside in the home. My heart is beating for hope and joy as we have dedicated the downstairs for the fundamentals of recovery for the families that are going to be heal through his abundant love and conquer life in his peace. Looking at the big dining room and “School For King” classes rooms, and the expanded aisles, tears come out in joy as I vision the moms and the kids that are going to grow in the home to become leaders in Society.

Fourteen years ago in Fullerton, the Ministry that started with the small giving of my personal property. With Lord’s blessings has laid down its roots and also bore fruits, allowing many Single moms and children have been giving opportunity to live victorious new lives. I endlessly thank God’s grace that has blessed us and the supporters for allowing this ministry to become a place for those who want to live by the Word.  

I want to thank those who responded to last month’s newsletter and helped with our goal of getting 100 people to offer $500 in donation for the building fund. I also want to thank those who are not going to hold back on the support and prayers in September.

Just as we planned the construction of the Rainbow home will be done by the end of September. In order to finish the construction and for us to welcome the single mothers families and students of “School for King” I ask in favor for your support and prayers. We can’t do this without you, please help us!

Pastor Park and I have been humbly praying in obedience and preparing for the new chapter of RFI and to be witness for his goodness and faithfulness to the world and continuously share the gospel of love and grace.

       Rainbow Family Home              Rainbow Kid’s           Habitat from Korea Visit

Dear Friends,

Hallelujah!

Hope you are doing well in this warm summer weather.

Greetings to you from Rainbow family in the name of our Lord.

The students who volunteered their whole summer break for years and a volunteer organization from Korea called Habitat came to visit the construction site together where they learned how to build houses and churches, something they found that would be useful in their mission.

Two years ago when we prayed and raised Funds for the expansion of the Rainbow Home I started out by setting out a goal to find 100 people who were willing to donate $1000. The gracious help of the many churches and supporters what was able to bring our expansion project thus far. I thank you from bottom of my heart for your partnership.

Whenever I meet or contact the single mom families who lived in the Rainbow Home or RFI school Kids, they are anticipating and waiting for the completion of the Home to come back to. I sincerely pray that our construction will be completed at a soon as possible with no complications or lack of funds so that we will be able to shelter for many more single moms and their children.

RFI firmly believe biblical teachings can break poverty and get rid of the crimes present in our society, and only the love of God can bring positive thinking and also allow to regain their confidence so that when they live out their lives as a healthy member of society, their community will also improve. Due to this even the next generation will be able to live in a better environment while waiting for the second coming of Christ?

With the task that last 14 years the Lord has bestowed upon both Pastor Park and I, we are being obedient and trusting in he’s promise of the seven colors of the rainbow. Through this we have experienced many miracles.  Thank you!!.

All the proceed form the book sales will go straight to the construction project. For the churches and individuals that are sending in Building funds, will have their names presented on the walls so thanksgiving and living testimony to the Lord and my supporters who works for the good of those who love him in all things.   Hosanna Church in New York Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Quinn   Rainbow Family Home

I hope and pray that all is well with you and yours.

Greetings from the Rainbow Family to you in the name of the Lord.

Although we have been facing unfortunate and sad news along with changes in Global economy but I believe that our God is the King of all and He who created universe will maintain what he has created. Through his grace, I have gained rest and am very thankful that I can pray in peace. I praise the living God and his works.

Last month, both Pastor Yun Seok Park and I have visited Hosanna church, which I served more than 20 years ago. We held worship with Pastor Bae Tae Hoe and the church members and had a great time of Fellowship. Although a lot of time has passed, our hearts and relationship remained the same as if I had last seen them yesterday.

I believe that the Lord make his presence known through the relationships of his children and he will be glorified in it. It was a time that allowed me to once again thank them for their prayers and love which has become a great stepping stone to the Rainbow Family ministry.

We drove though Virginia and visited with our Board member Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Quinn. We were invited to a delicious meal at their home and we talked about God’s love and his blooming grace. For the last ten years, Jonathan was a great friend to me and the Rainbow Family. He also started a Jonathan Home in Las Vegas and has given me the opportunity to minister for many years and still the one of the major supporters. Thank the Lord for them!!

Rainbow Family facility has finished the foundational construction and starting the actual building process. Whenever Pastor Park and I visit the construction site, I swell up in tears as I am thankful for the faithful prayers and financial donations that the supporters like you who are in likeness of God. I am happy to say building of our facility is getting twice as large, the scale of the Ministry will grow just as same is to help more families in today’s life struggles. Until the building is completely finished and to start the ministry again, we need your continuous prayers and financial support more than ever.

I hope and pray that all is well with you and yours.

Thanks to His grace, and your prayers, we began renovations at Rainbow Home. We would like to give special thanks to all those who made generous contributions towards improving Rainbow Home.

I wish to give Him all the praise and glory for His faithfulness.

In case you are not aware, I’d like to share with you the scope of the renovation plans. When the project is done, we will have added six bedrooms and two bathrooms, for an additional 1,800 ft of living space upstairs. This additional space will allow us to provide a home for up to six single mothers and their small children. Rainbow Family’s mission is to provide wayward women and their children Christian residential rehabilitation, and ultimately, reentry into society. We have been raising funds for over two years in order to expand our ability to offer year-round after school and summer school programs. These programs serve children living in temporary housing (Orange County Motel Kids). Previously, RFI School for King programs were operating in cramped spaces, overflowing to outside areas under tents. With this renovation, we will be able to accommodate all of the children and volunteers with indoor space for studying, meal time, and music and art classes, while still maintaining ample outdoor space to play and run. Residents are well served with the school expansion, as the school program space will be separate and private from the residential space. Additionally, Pastor Park has been living outside in a shed for the last ten years. With this renovation, Pastor Park will have a room of his own in the main house.

We continue to need your prayers and financial support to ensure that the project goes smoothly and gets completed on time.

Elders from Korean Church of Southwest L.A Presbyterian Church in Gardena came to see the renovation progress, and spoke with us about ways in which the church can support the Rainbow Home. We thank them for their generosity and encouragement.

Dear Friends,

I hope and pray all is well with you and your family. Month of May is a Family month.

I hope and pray that the heavenly love and peace will fill your home.

Our longtime supporter Thanksgiving Church youth group came and helped us move things out of the Rainbow home to the storage to preparing for the construction. We thank the Lord for them.

Women’s group of Immanuel church invite us to at their devotion service. I was honored to be invited to speak at the meeting. we had great fellowship and talk about many different ways that we can help the community. Church made a cell Group called Rainbow to include us and support us in the future I thank the Immanuel church for their love and support.

I have beautiful story to tell … how Lord’s Grace and mercy lead us and guide Rainbow family ministry. Around one year after Rainbow Family ministry was started, we were short that we couldn’t make the facility payment but I send the check in faith knowing we didn’t have enough money in our bank account. pastor park knew I was worried he told me don’t worry too much somebody is going to donate enough money to cover the check I knew he is trying to comfort me. I was scheduled to go to Bible study in Fullerton that day I went to Bible study with a heavy heart. Bible study is almost finished Mrs. Meenah Won came up to me and handed me an envelope and said “I want to sponsor one family from now on I hope this will help you” with her humble demeanor, I was encouraged and rushed over to the bank to solve the monthly payment. Whenever I recall that moment, I become thankful to the Lord who has been faithful and desired to pour out his blessings. When our Rainbow family was getting bigger and it was getting difficult to fit everyone inside one car to attend church, Meenah Won and her husband provided us with the Rainbow Family van. On top of that, she has been a huge contributor to purchasing the Buena Park home and also in the expansion project. The Won Foundation has unconditionally provided the orphans and widows not only in us. but many different part of the world. I thank form bottom of my heart for their compassion.

Deuteronomy 4:9

“Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.”
