Apr-2014

Dear Friends, Hallelujah!!

I hope and pray all is well with you.

All of the new shoots and blooming flowers of springtime are reminding me of all creation and its celebration of the resurrection of Christ with us.

Currently, we have a spectrum of recovery and rehabilitation going on among a full house of Rainbow Family Mothers and children.  Some Mothers at the home are going to school and working regularly.  Other Mothers are doing their rehabilitation curriculums.  But we are all in His grace, trying to live by the word of God, and to learn through him a healthier way of life.

All  RFM school children are being taken care by love and improving their academic work at school, and they now have a sense of belonging, and their attitude have become gentle as they were going through art and music therapy. They also have become physically healthy after having proper meals and healthy snacks.  A few days ago, I received a phone call from Centralia Elementary school that they are truly thankful for the ministry that we have here at RFM.  Most children at Rainbow home and after school program currently attend this elementary school.

Your love and support is helping spread the gospel to the local communities, we are so delighted and thank you again.

I ask earnestly that you could help RFM with your prayer and Financial support that we could continue our after school program and thus we could expand our facility and shine the light of Jesus to our community.

In Las Vegas, Jonathan home is run by pastor Won Suk Choi  and Mrs. to reach out to college students who are addicted to Las Vegas culture  (gambling, drug and alcohol). And sex trafficking and domestic violence victims. Jonathan home continue our ministry of healing and evangelism all the more in thins town. Although Home has been open for only three years, we notice many fruits, and home has become a refuge and the light house for many Koreans and for Korean community as well. I thank from bottom of my heart for YNCC church and your faithful support.

1 Peter1:3

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”

I pray that the power of resurrection of our Lord Jesus will be with you, your family, and your church always and God bless you!

Because He lives,

Reaching Out to Those Trapped

Lemonaide Live’s special guest on January 2 was Liz Lee. The subject had to do with human trafficking and that is exactly one of her pet ministries. There are approximately 20 to 30 million slaves in the world today, but some, I’m happy to say, do get a “New Beginning!”

I’m here to bear witness that this lady is very brave and bold. First, let me share about her background.

Liz Lee came to America from Korea to study on the west coast. But when she became pregnant, Liz moved in with an aunt in Las Vegas. She was a marketing director for a casino while raising her daughter, but eventually moved away, not ever expecting to return.

After sending her daughter off to college, Liz started abusing alcohol, lasting ten years. It was at a Christian Rehab center, the Lord met Liz right where she was at, broken and rebellious. The light overshadowed the darkness transforming and delivering her.

Liz attended seminary and realized that one of her callings is for women with children who are trapped in the prison system. She soon opened a home, Rainbow family, welcoming them. Many women have come to know the Lord, improving their education and job skills.

The other component of the ministry is called Motel Kids of Orange County. As Liz explains, “We did summer school and fed them three meals a day. During the school year, we help with homework and on Saturdays, the children learn various instruments. We’ve experienced great success.

Liz’s battleground is in Las Vegas, the headquarters for X rated movies, gambling, and many other sinful pursuits. It is in this place where people lose their life resources at the gambling tables and are now forced to find a way out. Some women, such as students, get into prostitution and are in bondage to their pimp.

These women are regularly beaten and forced to meet a quota. Some have children and just became stuck in a web that is not easy to untangle. This is where Liz fits in the picture by offering a home to escape, called Jonathan House.

When these ladies arrive in this Godly shelter, they are loved and taught about the Lord. As Liz says, “I’m not here to judge. We witness transformed lives. So far, we have collaborated with other agencies and the community to provide either overnight or emergency shelter to 187 victims of human trafficking and domestic violence, and served 706 clients living in violent environments via a 24-hour hotline.”

What I learned from Liz is that these victims are abused and brainwashed to believe they are unworthy of real love.

The miracle working power of Jesus Christ has brought new hope and life to these women. Some have found employment or even entered the ministry.

Liz is 100% committed to these ministries. She pours in, her heart, time, and love for the work of the Lord. She risks her life every day, especially when being threatened by the pimps who are determined to get their slaves returned. How wonderful that she found her niche and calling.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound…” (Isaiah 61:1 NKJV).
