Jenny and Her Children               Walk-A-Thon                        Stella Shin

Happy Thanksgiving

Dear friends

Hallelujah!!

I hope and pray all is well with you and yours in this changing of weather.

With a grateful heart that resides under God’s grace, we offer our greetings

Last month we have received another lovely family: Jenny Chavez, a single mother and her 4year old son Jeremiah, 3 year old daughter Ellie, and 1 year old baby Genesis. Jenny was born in California, stated that she had an older and younger sister, and was born to parents who had strong drug addictions. Her father is currently in drug treatment program and she has no idea where her mother may be. She explains that she and her three children lived in her boyfriend’s car for quite some time, until her boyfriend drove off with the car, leaving her nowhere to go. She then found the closest church and sought help in Calvary Church in Norwalk. An acquaintance of mine, who is a chaplain of the Linwood Prison, attended that church and introduced our Rainbow Family to them in which the Pastor and his wife brought her family to us. Although Jenny had nothing with her as all her belongings were in the vehicle, she was determined for a new beginning and so is living with great effort with her children, while experiencing the love of God. Won’t you please help this family with financial support and prayers?

After the expansion of our ministry, our residents and after school students, have been able to experience great joy of having more space to reside, study and play. However, the families that we have to help in the name of the Lord have been increasing, which means the costs have also risen as well, making it very difficult for us to maintain our ministry. Additionally, I am concerned that we are not going to have enough to share food and gifts to celebrate with needy neighbors for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Please help me to help others!!

During our last Walk-A-Thon, our families, Director Lim Jung Hwa, and other volunteers had a wonderful time. Even with strollers, we were able to safely complete our path, with not a single injury or mishap. I would like to genuinely thank all the supporters who have helped out during this Walk-A-Thon.

Stella Shin who has lived with us for 9 months with her son, Samuel, has just celebrated her birthday. She broke into tears of joy. that her family never visited her once, she was thankful to have found the loving family that celebrated birthday with her. Both Pastor Park and I felt so touched by her emotions that I praised the Lord for so preciously using Rainbow Family to help others.

Every Thanksgiving, we distribute turkey and other food items around to our neighbors. The same will happen this year on a Saturday on November 18th at 11:30 A.M. We ask for participation in this event through donations, volunteer, prayers, and support.

Psalm100:4-5

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

The supporters who thank the Lord’s grace and serve your neighbors, I pray and bless that your family, church, business, and ministry, the power of the Resurrection will allow for making all things prosperous.

Because He lives,
