Pastor Suil Hyun                   Easter egg hunt                     Sharing day

Dear Friends

Hallelujah!!

I pray with all my heart that you may have health and peace in the grace of the Lord who transcends all circumstances. Healing in the Lord’s grace and enjoying the freedom in the Word, Rainbow Family offers our monthly greetings with overflowing gratitude.

For Easter, the mothers hid eggs and gifts inside and outside the house, saying that the person who finds it can claim it as his or hers. Likewise, they taught the children that those who call upon Jesus and seek his kingdom can possess heaven.  I am thankful that the Lord became hope for those who do not have hope and confidence in this world. But above all, I praise the Lord for providing eternal life through Jesus Christ.

An old friend of our ministry, Pastor Suil Hyun delivered meals for our afterschool students. I would like to express my gratitude for the precious hearts who look out for their neighbors in need even through these difficult times.

Although there are many churches that go on missions with large expenses and travel vast distances, Rainbow Family focuses on making the United States a crime free society for our communities. When I think about our supporters who donate and pray for us, I am so thankful. I believe that the great blessings of the Lord will always be with you as well.

Every month we have been donating daily necessities, disinfectants, masks, and testing kits to neighbors in need. We would be very grateful for your cooperation in this as well.

On Saturday, May 28th at 10am, our annual Walk-A-Thon will be hosted. We will depart from our Ministry at Buena Park and walk 50 blocks around the area. We are planning on using the money to help the costs of sustaining Rainbow Family Summer School. If you could write a donation form and send it we will gratefully use it for the ministry.

We sincerely thank the Lord and our supporters that we are able to make our ministry centered on the Word of God without receiving government subsidies.

Isaiah 41:10

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

To the supporters who thank the Lord’s grace and serve your neighbors, I pray and bless that above your family, church, business, and ministry, the Lord’s resurrection power that makes all things good and an army of angels will always be by your side.

Because He lives,

Veronica’s Birthday          Small Group at Immanuel Church           Sharing Event

“Praise the Risen Lord!!”

Dear Friends,

Hallelujah!!

I hope and pray all is well with you and yours. The abundantly sprouting buds and the blooming flowers seem to be joining us in the praise of our Lord’s resurrection.

Veronica, who recently joined our family with her two kids, celebrated her 25th birthday with Rainbow Family. She is a good mother who tries to abide by the rules at the Home. Although she had a painful past, there have been many positive changes after receiving the Lord as her savior. With no lack in the world, she has been a healthy member of society. She continues to live at the Rainbow Family Home and is determined to learn the word of the Lord as she grows as a Christian with her children.

All glory to the good Lord who promises them victory.

I have received a lot of grace after visiting the small group at Immanuel Church, a longtime supporter of our ministry. We sincerely thank them for their generous support and prayers.

Our Rainbow Family continues to distribute food and daily necessities to those in need. This time we donated household items that were sent in by various donors and food that was donated from Orange County Korean Church. We delivered the food to families who walked without a car or could not come due to other circumstances. Even in the United States, there are too many families that are in need. All of these ministries are possible because of the wonderful supporters like you. We bow our heads in thanksgiving.

During these complicated and heartbreaking times, God has placed many faithful people like us who are not swayed by the things of the world. Even at such times as this,

I want to be able to realize the providence of our Father and protect my heart while serving our neighbors.

1Peter1:3

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”

To the supporters who thank the Lord’s grace and serve your neighbors, I pray and bless that above your family, church, business, and ministry, the Lord’s resurrection power that makes all things good and an army of angels will always be by your side.

Rainbow Family after school        Michiko Family      Future Young Leaders of America

Dear friends,

Hallelujah!!

How are you during this season of harsh weather changes?

Striving to live by the Word and the Lord’s grace, Rainbow Family is offering our monthly greetings.

I would like to introduce 40 year old single mother Michiko and her 3 month old daughter. Michiko was born in Fukuoka and has a 19 year old son from her first marriage.

Due to her difficult circumstances, she left Japan and went to Macao where she met a Pakistani man and got pregnant. They came to the United States but due to domestic abuse, Michiko ended up giving birth in a government shelter.

Because she is an illegal immigrant, the government could not help further and so she joined our Rainbow Family ministry.

Because of the language barriers, there are some difficulties, not too long ago, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and is attending church. We return the glory to God who is guiding her every step of the way.

Our Rainbow Family after school program started again last month. Currently there are 14 students from Centralia Elementary School that are participating in our program.

I am very grateful that we are able to see one another in a healthy state.

Our volunteers and parents from Future Young Leaders of America visited our rainbow home and donated daily necessities for our families. We would like to genuinely thank everyone for the abundant prayers and donations.

We are genuinely thankful for all the donations, both big and small, and the prayers that you have provided us with. We bow our head in thanksgiving for the cooperation of various churches, prayers and love from various ministries, and the material donations. I give all the glory to the living and faithful Lord.

James1:27

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans

and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

I pray that the power of resurrection of our Lord Jesus will be with you, your family, and your church always and God bless you!

Marisa Family              Daniel Kim Eagle Project               Veronica Family

Dear friends

Hallelujah!!

Magpie, Magpie’s new year’s day was yesterday and our, our new year’s day is today…[translated Korean song for Korean New Year]

How are you doing in the midst of harsh weather changes?

Indebted in love and pursuing a new life in the Lord, Rainbow Family offers our monthly greetings.

I would like to introduce a family that joined us last month: 29 year old single mother Marisa and her 2 year old daughter for Marisa and her daughter Leanne.

Marisa’s mother and father were separated due to her mother’s drug addictions. Born to a wandering mother, she spent most of her childhood in foster care. There were moment mother and Marisa lived in a shelter when she was out of prison. Her mother passed away early after her health deteriorated due to her addiction to drugs. Afterwards, Marisa realized that she was walking the same path as her mother. She joined Rainbow Family in order to be with her daughter Leanne again who is in foster care. She has accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and is working hard in her rehabilitation program. We ask for support and prayers

24 year old single mother Veronica and her 5 year old son David and 2 year old daughter Emma have also joined our Rainbow Family. Veronica shared that she left home at an early age due to her drug addiction. Afterwards she met the father of her children who was constantly in jail. She left her kids in her mother’s care and started living on aimlessly. Due to this the government got involved and limited her time with the kids to 3 days a week. However, with her participation in our rehabilitation program and the constant drug tests, she may be able to live with her children from April. Even though she has never read the bible before she has accepted Jesus as her savior and she is attending daily bible studies and church on a regular basis.

Daniel, a very talented boy scout, volunteered for Rainbow Family School in the previous year. He stopped by occasionally and became a good friend to our children. Last month, along with his boy scout friends, Daniel prepared materials to create two wonderful picnic tables for us. The tables have served multiple purposes for eating, doing homework, and playing. I would like to bow down in thanksgiving for Daniel’s genuine heart in serving and everyone who worked hard to create the tables.

The Rainbow Family was miraculously sustained by our supporter’s prayers and monetary donations. We ask you to join forces with us to help Rainbow Family become a true place of refuge for those who are hurt and marginalized through monetary donations and prayers.

Ephesians2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God

prepared in advance for us to do.”

We pray that the protection, hope, and peace of the Lord will always be with you who constantly provide to neighbors in need with outstretched arms. We bless that you will be filled with spiritual things of heaven and the fertile things of the earth.

Crystal’s Family                         Christmas 2021            Young Leaders of America

             Happy New Year!!

Dear friends

Hallelujah!!

Thankful for the Lord’s infinite love and grace, Rainbow Family offers greetings for the New Year.

This past Christmas with the help of our steadfast supporters, churches, and organizations, we were able to experience the abundance of the Lord’s love and blessings.

Grateful for his overwhelming grace, we look forward to the Lord’s plans for 2022.

The 2021 Christmas event was blessed with Calvary Presbyterian Church Pastor Kwang Soo Lee’s sermon, Grace Korean Church’s worship, and Calvary Presbyterian Church Pastor Jeong chan Kim’s blessings.

Unlike the past 19 years, approximately 70 people including our neighbors and many families of Rainbow family program graduates came to celebrate and receive gifts. With the special help and donations of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Grace Korean Church, Young Leaders of America, Jennifer Cho, Dr. John Lee, Won-Hak Kim, Jong-Doo Park, Dong-gil Kim, Director Jenny, Jinny, Kyung, and all our supporters, every single person returned home with a gift. We were able to eat to our heart’s content and celebrate the Lord’s birthday with a feast that was prepared by the small group of Grace Korean church.

We praise the Lord of love for always working the miracle of 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Hallelujah!!

We would like to introduce 32 years old Crystal and her 18month old son Konnor who joined us last month. Crystal shared that she was born to a mother who struggled with drug addiction and was thus entrusted in the hands of her grandmother. Since her grandmother served and attended a Baptist church, Crystal has been attending church since she was young. She also graduated from a Baptist High School. Even though she knew a lot about the bible, she wasn’t able to create a relationship with Jesus because of the wounds in her heart. She met her son’s father when she was committing crimes and gave birth to her son. However, she ended up giving her son up for adoption due to her drug addictions and visits to prison. Konnor is her second son and his father is in prison. Crystal is also on probation and can only visit her son twice a week. Crystal became involved with our home through the Probation officer, but she is eager to meet all the requirements in order to keep her son. We ask for prayers and support so that Konnor can live with his mother as soon as possible.

Isaiah 61:3

“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.”

We pray that the protection, hope, and peace of the Lord will always be with you who constantly provide to neighbors in need with outstretched arms. We bless that you will be filled with spiritual things of heaven and the fertile things of the earth.

Our yearly Thanksgiving celebration in which we help our neighbors in need, a tradition started many years ago by previous R.F.I. Board of director Soo Lee, has every year been graced with a special volunteer and givers that made it possible to continue spreading the love of Christ. in need. Thankfully through Pastor Suil Hyun and his wife, we were able to share many turkeys with our neighbors. Through our efforts, many families were able to have warm and joyous Thanksgiving meals. For working mothers, we delivered the turkeys and side dishes to their houses.

I sincerely thank you for your beautiful love and support as I experienced the miracle of heaven coming to earth.

The Sunny Foundation, who spared no effort in prayer and support for our Rainbow Family, prepared a delicious meal for our After School children. We are so thankful.

On December 18st at 11:30 AM, we will be hosting our annual Christmas celebration of sharing where we pass out gifts and share delicious food with our neighbors and children going through difficult times. Thankful for God’s love and compassion, Rainbow Family invites you and your families and friends to this lovely Jesus birthday event.

The Rainbow Family children are writing letters to the Lord exchanging gifts, I definitely do not want to disappoint them. Please help me so that I will be able to provide gifts for our RFI families and the families who have graduated from our program in previous years. Thank you!!

Let your light shine before men, and let them see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. Just as this verse states, let others see the father’s faithfulness and love through your works as you help us during this Christmas event.

Luke 2:14

How are you doing during this cold weather?

Seeking a new life in the grace of the Lord and being healed by his love, Rainbow Family offers our monthly greetings. We are grateful for the love poured by our living God and our friends who have provided us with donations and prayers.

I would like to introduce you to Erica and Dee who have joined our Rainbow Family last month. Erica, 34 years old, grew up with her grandmother and did not experience love from her parents. Thus, she made many mistakes and ended up spending painful years in prison. She shared that this is where she met the Lord. While staying at the Rainbow home, she learned about the power of forgiveness and decided to forgive her parents as well. Thank the Lord for his mercy.

19-year-old, Dee was born in San Diego and faced many obstacles due to her drug addiction. While struggling with her addictions, Dei learned through her single mother friend in college about our home. As it is a wonderful thing for us to see her commit to her studies, we want to stay by her side for a long time and help her. We ask for prayers and support for both Erica and Dee. Thank you so much.

Through our daily after-school program, the children are learning, receiving better grades in school, and becoming healthier. We sincerely thank our friends like you who spared no effort in prayer and support so that we may provide for our local community. I thank you from bottom of my heart.

On October 30th, 2021 we hosted our Walk-A-Thon. This year good friend of Rainbow Family, Director Jeong-Hwa Lim and her volunteers walked with us. Many parents and other volunteers have joined us as well. With the money that the volunteers collected, Director Lim matched the funds and donated it to our Ministry.

All united in the Lord, we walked 50 blocks and shared a delicious lunch when we got back.

special thank you to all our sponsors and participants of the Walk-A-Thon.

On November 18th we are planning to distribute Turkeys and other necessary ingredients for Thanksgiving to our neighbors in need. Please help us bring a warm and happy Thanksgiving to our neighbors. Thank you.

I believe that the Lord will grant the best conditions for success and the start of a new life for those who are marginalized in society. All thanks and glory to the loving Lord. Through your hard work, we are able to open heaven’s doors and fulfill the Lord’s will on earth as it is in heaven. Thank you.

Philippians4:6-7

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with

thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

I would like to introduce the family that joined us last month Single mother 26year old Hadley and her 2year old daughter Emma Lynn. Hadley’s mother passed away and her father is happily remarried. She shares that she feels very empty and lonely because she yearns for her mother’s love. When her older sister married, she tried to live with her but soon discovered that it was difficult. She stated that during this time she developed an addiction to drugs and slowly started to lose herself. It was around then when she met her daughter’s father and gave birth to Emma Lynn Since she has joined our Ministry she has actively participated in bible study where she is slowly starting to experience the love of God that is able to abundantly fill the absent love of her mother and more. Hadley is slowly in the process of finding herself again. We ask our supporters for financial support and prayers.

I would like to also introduce 27year old Priscilla Single mother along with her 2year old son Legend.

Priscilla was born in Anaheim and her father passed away a long time ago. Her mother is still struggling with her drug addictions. She repented living a materialistic life and is passionate about learning the Word of God. She started a new life after accepting Jesus as her Savior. We ask for prayers and financial support so that will be able to find her place in society.

The members of Young Leaders of America and parents have visited us with leaving supplies and snacks for our afterschool students. I pray and believe that the Lord will bless them as they always help their neighbors in need and also remember our RFI students.

We are still continuing our afterschool program that started on August 10th. Currently there are a total of 17 students.

I am so thankful to our supporters who provide through their churches. Because of your help, we are able to provide and help others even in difficult times.  Good Community Church  RFI Summer School graduation      Young-Sook Shin

Dear Friends

Hallelujah!!

I wish peace and health to all our supporters who are under the grace of the Lord, who transcends all difficult circumstances. Healing from the Lord’s grace and from the Word of God, Rainbow Family offers our monthly greetings in the name of the Lord.

Good Community Church where deacon Sylvia Kim served as the chairman of the Board of directors in the past, and 11th cell group brought to us many necessities and gifts to the children. They also gave gift cards to the moms and donations to the Ministry. We are so thankful that they provided us with 7 brand new computers so that students in the afterschool program can use them for homework and additional Zoom classes we are extremely grateful.

We sincerely thank the Good Community Church for the love and support and encouragement.

On August 3rd we had a RFI Summer School graduation ceremony. This year we had a total of 17 students who graduated with the gospel fastened to their hearts. With the school supplies and backpacks provided by Deacon Young Gil Kim of Il shin Presbyterian Church and the brand new sneakers from Elder Jong Doo Park, of Calvary church the students attended the first day of the school. I pray in thanksgiving that the Lord may remember the goodness of those who provide to those who have nothing and no hope. We were able to successfully host math, English, art therapy, and cooking classes in our summer school programs with the help from Director Jung-Hwa Lim and her volunteers. We would also like to give additional thanks to the Las Vegas Happiness Church for providing us with prayers and support. I am especially grateful for Young-Sook Shin, a Korean traditional musical artist, for coming to teach the children jang-gu and drum. There was a wonderful time of playing folk music and sharing in each other’s culture and customs with the gayageum performance.

We thank the Lord for working together for good in family of God and we also thank all our supporters for their passion.

On August 10th, Centralia elementary School, Orange view Middle School, and Western High School all opened and RFI after school program has since started.

As I mentioned in the last letter, I sold my car for the missionary expenses, making transportation very difficult and uncomfortable. One supporter who read the letter provided the perfect car for us. I sincerely thank the Lord who listens to even the smallest of discomforts and for the supporter who takes after the Lord’s heart. Praise the Lord!!

With your encouragement and passionate hearts, we will do our best to dedicate our lives to spreading the gospel. Thank you so much. Glory to GOD!!

1Timothy 1:16

“But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.”

I pray and bless that the grace and the blessing of peace will always be present in your families, churches, businesses, and ministries.

2021 Summer School               Casey Family               Christina & Lily

Dear, Friends    Hallelujah!!

How have you been during this warm weather?

Thankful in the Lord’s grace, Rainbow Family offers our monthly greetings.

Due to the pandemic, our after school and summer program dedicated to low income and single mother families reopened for the first time in almost 2 years. There are 19 students attending this year. Our summer school program that has been running for 10 years will only be held for a month this year due to financial shortcomings.  From August 10th, we will continue with the afterschool program. During our summer school program, we were able to lead and improve our local community with the gospel. We sincerely bow our heads in thanksgiving.

We would like to introduce a new family. Casey is a 26 years old single mother with her 3 year old daughter, Jamiese and her 2 year old son, Janiyan. Casey was born in an Indian Village in Michigan to a Korean father and American Indian mother. Thus, her surname is Yang. After a constant battle with drug use, her mother passed away 2 years ago from drug overdose. She shared that she had been in and out of prison because of her drug addiction. After seeing the changes in her brother’s life, she followed him to California and after having found a place to settle with us, she returned to Michigan to bring her children. I pray that as she lives in this Christian Community she will be able to be born again with the love of Christ. Please pray with me for her and her children’s Brand new life.

Christina, who we mentioned last month, because she is finally able to spend time with her daughter Lily whenever she wants she give all the Glory to God. Praise the Lord!!

Just as everyone is slowly recovering from the pandemic, Rainbow Family is also recovering. There were times when we thought we had to close our doors. During these difficult times, I sold my car to overcome tight financial positions. If any of our supporters have a car that is not in use, please consider donating it to the Rainbow Family it would be a great help.!! We will be happy to give you a tax exemption for the car.

Isaiah 61:3

“And provide for those who grieve in Zion- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”

I pray and bless that the grace and the blessing of peace will always be present in your families, churches, businesses, and ministries.

Because He lives,
