Monica and her children                2017 Thanksgiving                     RFI children

Merry Christmas!!

Dear Friends

Hallelujah!!

Christmas greetings to you from Rainbow Family in the name of our Lord!

In 2017, the steadfast care of God and the continuous prayers of our supporters allowed for our one Family to complete the rehabilitation process. We currently have 6 families in our home and each one is fighting hard and reigning victorious in their spiritual battle.

I would like to thank our friends with a genuine heart for all your prayers and thoughtful support.

I would like to introduce the new family that has been given to us: 37 year old single mother, Monica and her sons Benson, Gabriel, and Jeremiah. Monica was raised under her grandparents as her mother died when she was at a very young age and her father left her due to drug addictions. Carried down from her family members, Monica developed an addiction for alcohol and drugs from a young age of 14. Amidst all the loneliness, she met the father of her kids and was lost for quite some time. Fortunately, due the prayers of family members, Monica was welcomed into Rainbow Family where she is living a life with God. Although her two eldest sons, Benson and Gabriel, have autism, they are being wrapped in the love of Christ through our Rainbow Family and I request of both prayers and support.

During Thanksgiving last month, RFI Board of Directors and the supporters of Kowin LA branch have volunteered their time and offered 24 turkeys and other Thanksgiving meal ingredients to families so that they could enjoy an abundant meal with their families. Through their efforts, a lot of families were able to have warm and memorable meals. Thank you so much.

We were so joyful this month as students in our ministry received awards for being recognized as hardworking and diligent students.

On December 16th, starting at 11 A.M., Rainbow Family is hosting an annual event where we pass out gifts to our neighbors and children going through difficult times. Thankful for God’s love and compassion, Rainbow Family invites you to this lovely event.

Families of Rainbow Family and RFI students are waiting for gifts while they are writing a letter to Jesus. I have been praying ardently as I do not want to disappoint them.

Please help me so that I may offer gifts to graduate families, neighbors and kids of our ministry

Luke 2:14

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

I pray that the living hope of miracles and blessings are with you and your loved ones in this glorious season.

Jenny and Her Children               Walk-A-Thon                        Stella Shin

Happy Thanksgiving

Dear friends

Hallelujah!!

I hope and pray all is well with you and yours in this changing of weather.

With a grateful heart that resides under God’s grace, we offer our greetings

Last month we have received another lovely family: Jenny Chavez, a single mother and her 4year old son Jeremiah, 3 year old daughter Ellie, and 1 year old baby Genesis. Jenny was born in California, stated that she had an older and younger sister, and was born to parents who had strong drug addictions. Her father is currently in drug treatment program and she has no idea where her mother may be. She explains that she and her three children lived in her boyfriend’s car for quite some time, until her boyfriend drove off with the car, leaving her nowhere to go. She then found the closest church and sought help in Calvary Church in Norwalk. An acquaintance of mine, who is a chaplain of the Linwood Prison, attended that church and introduced our Rainbow Family to them in which the Pastor and his wife brought her family to us. Although Jenny had nothing with her as all her belongings were in the vehicle, she was determined for a new beginning and so is living with great effort with her children, while experiencing the love of God. Won’t you please help this family with financial support and prayers?

After the expansion of our ministry, our residents and after school students, have been able to experience great joy of having more space to reside, study and play. However, the families that we have to help in the name of the Lord have been increasing, which means the costs have also risen as well, making it very difficult for us to maintain our ministry. Additionally, I am concerned that we are not going to have enough to share food and gifts to celebrate with needy neighbors for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Please help me to help others!!

During our last Walk-A-Thon, our families, Director Lim Jung Hwa, and other volunteers had a wonderful time. Even with strollers, we were able to safely complete our path, with not a single injury or mishap. I would like to genuinely thank all the supporters who have helped out during this Walk-A-Thon.

Stella Shin who has lived with us for 9 months with her son, Samuel, has just celebrated her birthday. She broke into tears of joy. that her family never visited her once, she was thankful to have found the loving family that celebrated birthday with her. Both Pastor Park and I felt so touched by her emotions that I praised the Lord for so preciously using Rainbow Family to help others.

Every Thanksgiving, we distribute turkey and other food items around to our neighbors. The same will happen this year on a Saturday on November 18th at 11:30 A.M. We ask for participation in this event through donations, volunteer, prayers, and support.

Psalm100:4-5

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

The supporters who thank the Lord’s grace and serve your neighbors, I pray and bless that your family, church, business, and ministry, the power of the Resurrection will allow for making all things prosperous.

Tiani & Jason                      Birthday party                 Happy time together

Dear Friends

Hallelujah!!

I hope and pray all is well with you and yours in this changing of weather.

With a grateful heart that resides under God’s grace, we offer our greetings

As we are entering this harvest season, I offer praise to the Lord as I am reminded of his overwhelming goodness.

I want to introduce a new family, 26 year old Single mother Tiani and her 4 year old son, Jason, that was brought to us last month by the Lord. Tiani suffered and fight hard with her drug addiction.  She grew up homeless and lived in a tent in Riverbed with her drug addicted parents. After Jason’s father went to prison she was going through many hardships as a single mother with a young son. She says it was miracle from God that she was introduced to Rainbow Family. 4 year old Jason has autism and therefore goes through great difficulties such as being unable to speak and having been required to wear a diaper. However because he can still hear, Pastor Park and I are putting in great effort to communicate with him. I laugh to myself because I sometimes wonder if our cute Jason would start speaking Korean first. During my 15 years of ministry, I have encountered many families that have suffered through great difficulties, but through the deep and personal conversations I had with Tiani, I feel that it is the first that I was told of such a difficult life as this. Tiani has confidence in her Salvation and loves Him so much. I ask of your support and prayers for this family so that they may be healed and victorious through the love of the Lord. Thank you!!!

In our RFI afterschool program, we have 18 attending students daily, we pick them up from school and help them with their homework. After they enjoy their play, we provide them with a hearty dinner and provide a ride back to their homes.

There will be Walk-A-Thon on October 14th. We will start at our Rainbow Home at 9:30 A.M. and walk about 50 blocks. After that we will make our way back Home and share fellowship over a lunch.

Please join us in our walk or sponsor our walkers. We need your help!

Because of your prayer and support, we were able to provide for our neighbors and their children, and offer them free education and aid in living out their everyday lives. I want to thank you from bottom of my heart for your support.

Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

I pray that the power of resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ will be with you and your family, your church and ministry always.   God bless you and yours!

Sunny Foundation                 Raquel & Mia                           Volunteers

Dear Friends

Hallelujah!!

Hope you are doing well in this warm summer weather.

Greetings to you from Rainbow family in the name of our Lord.

This summer, taking care of 27 kids in Rainbow summer school has been an arduous task and I must admit there are times when I suffer both physically and emotionally. However in the midst of all the people in the world, I am thankful to the point of tears that as a lacking person as I am I have been assigned to share his love and gospel. And through doing his will, Lord gave a compassionate heart that ultimately overcame my weakness Praise the Lord!!.

I would like to introduce a new family, 45 year old single mother Raquel and 13year old daughter Mia. Although there was a time when Raquel was in the rehabilitation process with Rainbow Family for over an year when her daughter Mia was not even two years old, since then she received a lot of hardships for being a single mother and has returned to our Home. Please keep their futures in your prayers. Thank you !.

Although there were more students in the year 2017 than any other year for our summer school program, but director Lim Jung Hwa and her 13 volunteers were of great help as they taught many subjects including English, Math, Music, Art. The Volunteers parents have also helped out by offering delicious meals to kids who grew up in difficult environments, donating material goods, and sharing their love. I thank the Lord for them.

A long time supporter of Rainbow Family, Director Joo from Sunny Foundation and Many members came and offered wonderful meals to our Rainbow summer school students and took care of the kids with love.

In addition to that, Good Shepherd Church, Calvary Presbyterian Church, Il shin Presbyterian Church, and Immanuel Baptist Church have consistently visited us, donated material goods and prayed for our students and the Rainbow Families.

Mrs. Soo Lee has also visited Rainbow Family just as same as every year without fail and has supported us with funds and immense love. I bow my head in thanksgiving for all the love that was provided by our supporters.

Norma and Bianca             R.F.I . Summer School              Veronica’s Family

Dear Friends,

Hallelujah!!

I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.

With a grateful heart that resides under God’s grace, Rainbow Family offers our greetings

As an extension of the all year round after school program for the low income families in our community, Summer School has started. This year we have 27 students in the summer school program. Because of financial issues, these single mother families are facing many hardships. But fortunately, help from friends like you Rainbow Family is able to confidently hold the torch in the front lines and serve as a leader for the efforts in community improvement.

In our Rainbow Family home, there are 6 families that are residing with us. The family that joined us last month was Norma, a 43-year-old single mother, and her 9-year-old daughter, Bianca. Due to addiction, Norma and the father of her daughter resorted to selling drugs of which they got  jail sentence for. Bianca’s father parted ways and therefore made it difficult to know his whereabouts for many years. Norma, full of anxiety, has been in shelters, rehabilitation centers, and jail. Because of this she was forced to stay distant and away from her daughter. She confesses she has never felt such joy of waking up with her daughter and eat breakfast together every day. Every morning during bible study, she thanks the Lord for giving her a second chance in life.

Please pray and support for Norma and Bianca’s new beginning.

34-year-old Veronica, along with her 12-year-old daughter, Jenavi, 9-year-old daughter, Angelina, and Aldo who just celebrated his first birthday, have joined our Rainbow Family last month. Amidst the hardship that Veronica and her children’s father faced due to their addiction to drugs, her young children were taken from her. She went through the rehabilitation program and she could get her children back from the children protective services. Even their father is going through the process at the rehabilitation and is making progress. Veronica is steadily making great progress as she is reading the bible, hoping that she will be able to marry children’s father in the future and live out the life that God had planned for her and the children. Please pray for Veronica that her life may be prosperous.

I want to deeply thank you from bottom of my heart for your prayers and support as it had allowed Rainbow home to become a refuge and shelter for single mothers and their children .

Ephesians 2:10

Isabella had also received the president’s award which made even more proud. I praise and thank the loving Lord as I pray for their future so that the Lord may shine his marvelous light and bless their lives. 10 year old fifth grader Samuel, who lives with us, lift up everyone’s day when he brought his report card that showed great improvement from the one before. Dear Friends,

I hope and pray all is well with you and your family. Month of May is a Family month.

I hope and pray that the heavenly love and peace will fill your home.

I praise the Lord who never rests and ceaselessly works for those who rely on the resurrected Christ.

Last month, those who studied counseling at the His Theological Seminary visit Rainbow Family home. They were not only wise and intelligent but they also put their love and faith into practice. We exchanged these passions and precious information so that we may further our mission as well. We prayed that we may find a road together in which we were given the opportunity to praise the Lord. Through our relationships and great encouragement, we were obtain the vision of the Lord’s will. Thank you very much,

Past few years every Saturday, the Livingstone volunteer Organization has offered music and art therapy to RFI students. The director Lim Jung Hwa leads has been participating in various events like drawing on murals in new shopping center “The Source”  we took pictures and enjoyed a great time.       2017 walk-a-thon                  Happy walk –a-thon                   RFI girls

“Praise the Risen Lord!!”

Dear Friends,

Hallelujah!!

I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.

The abundantly sprouting buds and the blooming flowers seem to be joining us in the praise of our Lord’s resurrection. The moms in our home have immersed themselves in the rehabilitation process and living healthy lives under God’s grace and His word. The almighty and Resurrected Lord who could have avoided the cost of the cross by calling army of angels and saved himself but he endured the cross for us. I praise him for giving us the opportunity to be resurrected within him. As our Rainbow Family members possess the power of the resurrection and strive to live our lives as new creation in Christ as fear and trembling we work in our salvation daily. Even the 20 students of the RFI School children are recognizing the power of the resurrection and the grace of salvation. I thank the Lord and friends like you making this possible.

We held a 2017 walk-a-thon last month.

Director Lim Jung Hwa from Livingstone, volunteers, parents, our rainbow families, and even the after school kids specially this year our board members and Thanksgiving church members came and joined together to participate in this event. All the workers have joyfully finished the walk-a-thon which was a route consisting of 50 blocks in the neighborhood. Afterwards we were able to share time and talk about the grace and love of God as we ate a delicious lunch. I thank the Lord that he allowed us to walk with grateful hearts and gave us the strength to walk the distance. I would also like to genuinely thank the volunteers who participated in the walk and the donors who have donated for these walkers.

As the scale of our ministry is getting larger we need help financially and overall for the ministry. As we are praying for more contributions to come in order to help single mothers and their children, we pray and ask for your best gift this month and continuously in order for us to spread the gospel to our community and allow for consistent education for the RFI kids. I believe that poverty can be overcome with education through the gospel. In order to allow for Rainbow Family Ministry to create a society of all different people that may grow together.

I need your help more than ever before!!

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” 1 Peter 1:3

I pray and bless that above your family, church, business, and ministry, the power of the Resurrection will allow for making all things prosperous.
